Plot and Game Play

Both the Earth and Moon are protected by a force field. But the Moon's is weaker than Earth's and under heavy attack. A hole in the forcefield has
opened up just above the moonbase. You must fly into low orbit and defend the hole from
the alien ships!

You can fly east, west, north and south and destroy the alien hordes!

Between waves, land your fighter for re-fueling - but be careful! Your landing computer is non-functional
- so you will have to land by hand. Be careful not to miss the base or crash! Good luck!

Optional 3D Mode with Red/Blue Glasses

If you wish to then you can make use of the optional 3D mode.

Some people can see this effect really well, and other less so. However, 3D Glasses are cheaply obtainable online e.g.

Hints

* Aliens ships fly towards you to engage with you.

* Your low orbit fighter is not capable of flying out of low orbit, so you cannot shoot spaceships that are
maintaining a safe distance from you.

* If you shoot the ships as they fly towards you, it is possible to hit them before they finish their approach.

* Power-ups are distributed in the same orbit as the ship. These can be collected for :

  • Rapid Fire
  • Duel Fire
  • Extra Shields
* On level 5,6,7,8,9 you are required to hit the alien ships 2x. Hits are indicated with a high frequency noise sound.

* On level 10 and after, you are required to hit the alien ships 3x.

* As you progress, the alien bombs cause more damage to your shields.

* As levels increase, the difficulty in moon landing increases and the time allowed decreases.

* Successful moonbase landings give you 20 extra shields and a score bonous.

* The level selector offers access to the first 7 levels

3D Moonbase Attack was developed using kit bashed and scratch built models shot in front of a green screen.
Some hi-res (12 Mega Pixels) green screen photos are included.

Compatibility

3D Moonbase Attack is compatible with RISC OS 4 on Virtual Acorn and RISC OS 5 on Raspberry Pi 0, 1,2 & 3,4,400 Beagleboard and Pandaboard based systems, ARM X6, Titanium and RPCEmu.

Please note that for Raspberry Pi users, a minimum of the Raspberry Pi 2 is recommended, however the game is playable on the Raspberry Pi 1.
