IntroductionYou are the ruler of a small kingdom by the Silver River.Each year has 3 seasons : Growing, Harvest and Winter. Your people plant and harvest rice. They dig holes to protect against flooding and defend against attacks from bandits. Generally the chief is exempt from this work. But by tradition, one day a year they are permitted to fight bandits, dig ditches to protect against floods and harvest rice. Otherwise your role is supervisory. If you survive 24 years then you must retire. But, will your people survive that long?
How to PlayAt the start of the year you must choose how many will work in the fields, maintain the ditch by the river, defend the villages or harvest rice. You must also choose how many rice baskets will be planted.Then you play for a day that (lasts several minutes in our reality). You can reassign villagers by clicking on them. There is another way you can choose to send them home - but that is left to the player to find out how to do. You can help dig the ditch by the river, or during harvest season, pick the rice. Periodically the villages are attacked, and the player may attempt to stop the bandits. Either, the stolen rice will be taken back, the bandits may run away or occasionally they may die when you fight them. Be careful if you wander too far near the bandits villages as they may come out to fight you. The number of bandits is typically stable for the season and the outcome of any battles will typically effect the attacks during the rest of that season. Periodically during the harvest and winter seasons the river is known to flood. Be careful about drowning. The villagers tend to panic if the river floods. As the years go by the flooding is likely to get worse and more bandits with more frequent raids occur. However, some bandits may also choose join you. If the population drops to 10 or less then your villagers are likely to flee to the mountains. Can you last the full 24 years?
